Sneak Peek: Yarmouth, Maine

What a fun session! This kids were fabulous, Mom was fabulous, all the planets were aligned…it was just a great day! I just loved the energy of the whole session.
I was going to just put one photo up on the sneak peek and get back to the rest of my work, but I couldn’t do it. I am sure you will see more of this session in the future.

This was actually at the end of the session (I had already started packing up) and the two older kids were rolling the umbrellas in front of them to block me (or shelter their little sister) and then would roll them back to their sides basically playing peek a boo with the camera…I love seeing what kids will do with their imaginations and a simple prop.

Another image choreographed by these fun siblings! I love that the older brother was not shy to grab one of the parasols as I was getting ready to photograph the older sister with one and did his own thing. There are some other great ones that I’ll have to share later showing more of his creativity. Doesn’t big sister have the sweetest look with her missing tooth?

Isn’t this antique high chair great? I can’t get over how well this one year old did for the session! She was such a delight! And the curls….love them!

This was fun! I loved that the kids (and Mom – thank you!) were up for anything I wanted to try.

I just have to say that I loved Meg (Mom) and her husband’s style! As soon as I walked into the house I knew it was going to be a great session. She was relaxed, the kids were polite and the energy just felt calm. It is such a win-win situation when I bring my studio to a client’s house. They have all the comforts of home, while I have the ability to capture them in their natural environment. It makes me think back to how I would love to see photos like this of me and my sisters in our house we grew up in.

As Meg heard me gush over and over again, the wall paper was probably one of my favorite things, but really I loved all the details she had incorporated into her decorating. She has three young children, works outside the home and still has a stylishly decorated home. Meg, you put me to shame! :)
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to capture your beautiful children!

How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? Less than two weeks to go!!

Much Love,

Shannon

December 13, 2009 - 10:58 pm Andrea - This family looks like they are from a magazine. Love how you used the well decorated house as part of the picture. But I can't get over how these kids just look like they are having a blast together.

December 13, 2009 - 11:19 am Lora Carr - Shannon - great session! What fun images you captured. I love their house and could move right in ;) The pear print - amazing. The bare feet/couch/cute toddler shot - priceless!

December 12, 2009 - 8:08 am Meg - WOW! The sneak peak has made us excited for more....what great photos that really capture not only the children's images, but also their personalities. Shannon, it was such a fun time yesterday. I enjoyed meeting you and I wonder, could you just be our personal photographer and capture all the moments with my children that I know are fleeting? It would only require 24 hour coverage and I might let you have Wednesdays off...
